BNE Hardee’s are open 5 a.m. until 9 p.m. for carry-out, to-go, drive- thru and pick-up Door Dash delivery.

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (March 19, 2020) – The largest Hardee’s franchise operator in the United States, Boddie-Noell Enterprises, announced today it will go to drive-thru service only and suspend dining-in service except for pick-up at all of its 340-plus restaurant locations as a precaution against potential coronavirus concerns.

The company will also modify its operating hours to 5 a.m. to 9 p.m Monday through Saturday and Sunday 6 a.m at 9 p.m. at all 346 Hardee’s restaurants it owns and operates in North Carolina, Virginia, South Carolina and eastern Kentucky. Boddie-Noell does not operate all Hardee’s locations in any of the four states and other franchisees may not have taken these steps taken by Boddie-Noell.

Customers can access the dining areas to place orders for delivery or pick-up by services. For instance, Uber Eats will offer free deliveries for the next two weeks.

“The safety of our employees and our guests is our top priority. We’ve made this decision to go to drive-thru, pick-up and delivery service only out of an abundance of caution and to assure our customers we take their safety and health seriously during this uncertain time,” said Mike Boddie, president of Boddie-Noell Enterprises. “It’s also to address any concerns our employees might have as we continue to put in place the best health and safety practices that we can.”

The company said it will maintain the drive thru and pick up-only service as long as it remains advisable or public health authorities ask restaurants to do so. It also is reducing operating hours to provide employees more time to maintain enhanced cleaning, sanitation and health measures.

Boddie-Noell already has put in place enhanced cleaning and sanitation practices at all of its Hardee’s locations. The company also provided additional training for employees to monitor their own health and take immediate steps if they have any health or illness concerns.

“We’re going to be as proactive as we possibly can to ensure that our restaurants meet or exceed health and safety requirements and to take additional measures that our customers would expect of us as members of hundreds of local communities at this time,” said Boddie.

Fall Fundraiser Statewide at Boddie-Noell’s Restaurants Raises $88,184

RICHMOND, Va. (Dec. 5, 2016) – Customers at Hardee’s® restaurants across Virginia operated by Boddie-Noell Enterprises gave $88,184 to Special Olympics Virginia for athletes to attend the organization’s upcoming summer games. The proceeds came from customers who paid $1 for a Star and received a coupon sheet good for Hardee’s menu items during the recent five-week campaign.

The Hardee’s Star fundraising campaign helps hundreds of Special Olympics athletes participate in the 2017 edition of this annual community event. It’s the 36th year of the fundraising partnership between franchise operator Boddie-Noell and Special Olympics Virginia.

Raising the most in this year’s campaign were customers at the Hardee’s in Stuart. In second place was the Hardee’s at Celebration Station in Virginia Beach. Third in sales was the Hardee’s of Gloucester (Hayes). All 176 Hardee’s locations in Virginia operated by Boddie-Noell participated in this year’s campaign by selling the Stars.

“We’re very proud of our Hardee’s locations that did their part but especially for our generous customers who support these wonderful athletes by purchasing the Star and receiving the coupons,” said Terry Lewis, president of Boddie-Noell’s Hardee’s Restaurant Operations and a board member of Special Olympics Virginia.

“As a result of this incredible effort, Special Olympics athletes from all over the Commonwealth will attend the Summer Games,” said Rick Jeffrey, president of Special Olympics Virginia. “They will also experience all of the respect, inclusion and unity the Games have to offer as well as much-needed access to free healthcare in the areas of dentistry, optometry, audiology and fitness. Boddie-Noell and Hardee’s support of Special Olympics Virginia is unmatched!”

Boddie-Noell Enterprises, the largest Hardee’s franchise operator in the United States, has now contributed in excess of $1.6 million to the Special Olympics organization over the more than three decades they’ve partnered together. Boddie-Noell owns and operates all Hardee’s franchise restaurants across Virginia.

In addition to the 2016 Fall fundraiser, in 2017 Boddie-Noell will sponsor the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Virginia. The company will again sponsor the Summer Games in mid-June.

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with and without intellectual disabilities. Participation provides them with continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

For decades, Boddie-Noell has held an annual fundraiser at its Hardee’s restaurants across Virginia in which customers pay $1 for a special Star in exchange for a coupon sheet good for specific menu items worth far more than the contribution amount. In addition, the company’s Richmond-area Hardee’s have fed the athletes and coaches during the games.

Last year’s Star fundraiser campaign resulted in a record-setting $97,644 for Special Olympics Virginia to help directly offset the costs of this year’s Summer Games. All 176 Hardee’s locations operated by Boddie-Noell in Virginia raised money for the event.

“We’re very proud of our Hardee’s and Boddie-Noell association with Special Olympics Virginia and the loyalty and support our customers have shown over these years in supporting these special athletes,” said Boddie who has been involved in the games, including one year in which he carried one of the flags in the ceremonial procession by athletes into the stadium as part of the Summer Games opening ceremony. “On behalf of our company and our restaurants, we’re privileged to receive this recognition,” he said.

In addition to being one of the main supporters of the annual Summer Games, Boddie-Noell also sponsored the Polar Plunge Fest in Virginia Beach on Feb. 5 & 6 and in Dumfries, Richmond and the New River Valley last Feb. 27.

Juanita Davis Named Champion over Hundreds of Other Boddie-Noell Biscuit Makers

LUMBERTON, N.C. (March 8, 2016) – If the breakfast biscuits baked at the Hardee’s® restaurant at 3007 W. Fifth St. taste delicious, that’s because they are made by a Biscuit Maker Champion.

Local Hardee’s biscuit maker Juanita Davis was named as the 2015 Best Biscuit Maker of Boddie-Noell Enterprises, the largest Hardee’s franchise operator in the nation. Davis advanced beyond more than 700 other biscuit makers at 337 Hardee’s restaurants across four states to win the overall award.

Contestants in Boddie-Noell’s annual Biscuit Maker Challenge represented Hardee’s restaurants across North Carolina, Virginia, South Carolina and Kentucky. In addition to Davis, the three best biscuit maker regional winners were Elijah Hoff of Timberville, Va., Maritza Farfan of Salem, Va. and Beatrice Anderson of South Boston, Va.

Boddie-Noell honored the four regional winners and announced Davis as the overall winner during a banquet at the company’s Rose Hill Plantation near Nashville, N.C.

“I love everything that I do for this company,” said Davis. “Getting up early in the morning, knowing that a lot of people are waiting on my biscuits, makes my job so enjoyable.”

Davis says the key to creating the best Hardee’s Made from Scratch™ biscuit begins with “putting a lot of love into the process.” Her favorite Hardee’s biscuit is the Chicken Filet Biscuit.

“Juanita started off as a cook with us 19 years ago,” said Brenda Cherry, regional vice president for Boddie-Noell Enterprises. “As soon as there was an opening for a biscuit maker, she took over and has been making great biscuits ever since.”

Davis and the three other regional winners will be featured later this year in photos on the in-store tray liners at all Hardee’s restaurants operated by Boddie-Noell.

The competition started in October, and each biscuit maker was evaluated based on the quality of his or her biscuits, knowledge of proper biscuit equipment, cleanliness and care of the biscuit equipment, knowledge and execution of company procedures, grooming and appearance. The competition’s judges included general managers, district managers, regional directors, vice presidents and other executives in the restaurant division of Boddie-Noell at the five levels of competition.

Davis has worked as a biscuit maker at Hardee’s for 14 years. When she isn’t making biscuits, Davis enjoys going to church, cooking, cleaning and shopping. She also loves spending time with her family, especially her 10 grandchildren.

Hardee’s Made from Scratch™ biscuits, which have been served at Boddie-Noell restaurants since 1977, are a vital part of the restaurant’s menu.

In 2015, Hardee’s restaurants owned and operated by Boddie-Noell used more than 749,603 pounds of biscuit flour, 10,655,056 pounds of biscuit mix, 382,860 pounds of cinnamon raisin biscuit mix and 7,860,160 pounds of buttermilk to make the golden brown biscuits – equivalent to roughly 5,000 acres of wheat and 490 truckloads of ingredients.

RALEIGH, N.C. (Oct. 23, 2015) – Kannon’s Clothing announced today that it will relocate the women’s store from its longtime location in Wendell to Raleigh’s Cameron Village Shopping Center in early 2016.

The new location will place one of North Carolina’s oldest family-owned, upscale women’s clothing stores in a vibrant shopping region and introduce more shoppers to Kannon’s sophisticated women’s apparel and well-known personalized shopping experience.

Kannon’s women store’s move next year to Cameron Village will follow the successful relocation of the Kannon’s men’s store to the shopping center in 2012.

“Our decision to relocate Kannon’s from its founding home in Wendell was difficult and carefully considered,” said Kannon’s president George Knuckley, who is part of the third-generation family that runs the business today. Knuckley and his sisters followed in the footsteps of their grandfather Issac George Kannon who founded the retail business in Wendell in 1916.

“Kannon’s recognizes and appreciates the importance of our loyal customers who come to shop with us from throughout North Carolina and out of state,” Knuckley said. “We look forward to continuing to serve these customers and friends from the new Raleigh location with the same friendly, warm and individualized service they’ve come to expect for decades.”

The move will come sometime in the first quarter of 2016 at a location on the corner of Cameron Street and Woodburn Road in Cameron Village. Kannon’s will work with Wendell town officials on the best use of the Main Street storefront space the store has occupied for decades, the family said.

“Going forward, we know that Cameron Village is an ideal fit for what Kannon’s represents to our loyal customers and is the best partnership we could imagine now and into the long-term future,” said Joe Ann Wright who with her brother and sisters Boo Jefferson and Mary Kathryn Phillips manage the business.

About Kannon’s
Founded in 1916 by immigrant Issac George Kannon, Kannon’s Clothing today is one of the oldest family owned clothing stores in the U.S. Kannon’s combines the best in high-quality apparel with impeccable, individualized customer service.

ROCKY MOUNT, NC (June 18, 2015) – Five Hardee’s® restaurants owned and operated by Boddie-Noell Enterprises earned the 2015 Operational Excellence Award from Hardee’s’ parent company for outstanding franchisee performance over the past year.

In reaching the achievement, these five Hardee’s locations were among only eight Hardee’s franchise locations across the U.S. to receive the annual award from CKE Restaurants. One of Boddie-Noell’s winning restaurants is located in Madison, N.C. and the other four are in Virginia – in Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Courtland and Waverly.

The Operational Excellence Award is based on three specific guidelines: an individual restaurant’s rated performance on quality assurance audits, its score on an operational assessment and no more than one guest complaint per month.

“We’re very proud of these five Hardee’s locations. They’ve demonstrated that each of these restaurant teams has the focus and commitment to be the best in their business,” said Terry Lewis, president of Hardee’s Restaurant Operations for Boddie-Noell.

Boddie-Noell is the largest Hardee’s franchise operator in the U.S. with 335 locations across four states. The awards were presented at a special awards banquet for Hardee’s franchise operators.
