Fall 2015 Intern Diaries: Entry #4

What an exciting couple of weeks it has been at Rountree Communications! We have moved next door to a lovely new office space and have left our friendly feline friends behind. Lindsay says she’ll be sure to share pictures of the agency’s new digs soon.

In the midst of the move, I have been quite busy! RC has started working with a new client, Kannon’s Clothing. Kannon’s Clothing is a family owned and operated business that began in 1916. Kannon’s is preparing to move its Wendell store location to Cameron Village in Raleigh and is working with RC to spread the news. I have been conducting research and learning about Kannon’s. Alongside the research, I have been brainstorming potential social media content for their Facebook page, as well as engaging with other local stores and accounts on Instagram.  Working with a new client has demonstrated to me the importance and value of understanding the culture and essence of a client as well as its customers. This sense of understanding is important for crafting the right messages and delivering the best possible results for the client.

Looking ahead, I am excited to write that I am attending the PRSA National Conference in Atlanta this weekend. On behalf of Elon PRSSA and Rountree Communications, I am thrilled at this opportunity to expand my horizons as a communications professional and engage with students and professionals from around the country. Follow me on twitter @JEisengrein for updates on my journey to the conference! I’ll be sure to share a recap of the conference next week.
